Title: hard to get into gears
Post by: sharki786 on 30 May 2011, 11:09
hi all
hope u guys are having a good w4nk holiday. to the point. got a problem with gears. as you know i replaced my gbox and now the problem has started where i cant select any gears while the cars started, if i try reverse it will crunch realy bad, i replaced it with a new clutch from eurocarfarts, but funny thing is that if the car isnt started i can select any gear. could it be gear linkages or the clutch cable? also is it best to get a manual cable and are they hard to set up?

will appreciate it

thank you

right bit of an update, fitted a new cable from gsf (was genuine  )
but still the same. fiddled with the selector and got gears then before you know it we lost them again. so just got a release bearing and plate cover. is there anyway to align the selector or do i have to buy the tool? and if so where from?

thank you

F*ckin monkeys working at eurofarts! The guy gave me a clutch kit of a mk4 2.0. Luckily took the old clutch with me, compared it with every clutch that eurofarts got out was wrong, went to andrew page and he got me the right1. I asked him about the part number euro gave and he said its for a mk4 2.0. So a valued lesson learnt, take the old part with you if possible.
Over and out.

is this fixed now?

I never trust ecp with anything unless I know what I need, have a part number, or have the old part with me. Everytime I've asked and had to take their word for it theyve been wrong

If the problem was the selector then you wouldnt get gears with the engine off, sounds like the clutch is sticking to me
