hey peoples,
i have a over heating issue i not sure how to fix current replaced rad and thermosate but still bubbles up out of header tank :(
took out thermosate and have same prob, any ideas???

the system probably needs bleeding.......or it could be head gasket
ensure there is no air in the system first.....

Is the fan kicking in an out when it gets over 90-100?
It could possibly be an air lock so try running it without the header tank cap on for a bit.
Could also be a knackered waterpump,is it making any unusual noises?Could be that the vanes on the impeller have deteriorated over time and your not getting enough flow.
If it turns out to be a head gasket and your head is buggered give me a shout as i have a complete head for a 1.8 driver you can have for nowt.

I agree, Head gaskets are quite tough on the 1.8 engines so i would make sure the water pump is good first, personally at this point i would just replace it, drain and refill the system. Try again. With the stat and rad being changed, that's the last thing to try before looking down the head gasket route. But the water pumps commonly fail, so well worth swapping it.

thanks guys, drianied bleed out system and new header cap and so far all is normal :)
