Hi everyone,
thought i'd put on here what i've been up to. Bought this 2.0 8v a couple of months back as a little run around but could'nt leave it alone!!

First thing was front break discs as both were warped.

Then my cousin very kindly donated his golf which was completely knackered but had leather interior and much better condition wings than mine, and a whole bucket load of other stuff that i scavanged

Started sanding my wheels ready for a home re-spray (Ivory White)

Started putting my car back together (just like frankenstien) and fitted some budget coilovers.

Always doing little bits and pieces but this is what i've got so far. Needs alot of work and we'll see how far it goes, i've always had Mk2's and this is the first 3, fingers crossed...

Thanks for having a look, all comments good or bad welcome. Future plans include lots of body work and some welding, new wheels, tyres and spacers (Ronals i think?) etc... CHEERS!!!!!!!

very clean fella, like the subtle colour change of the wheels!

Those leather door cards look nice

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. I must admit the pictures don't really show all the small rust scabs and the huge area of filler on the opposite side back wheel arch, but hey that's what getting dirty and having a project is all about!!
Fitted the Magnex back box yesterday ( thanks F17BAD  ), but not quite sitting right yet so still a bit of fiddling to do...
Anyway next thing on the list is hopefully new shoes, Ronal Turbos with a bit of stretch and larger size on the rear i think, the endless task of body work, and inside new headlining, covered pillars etc:
(Oh yes!! and i need to find out about getting the sills replaced along both sides as the front jacking points are completely smashed to bits  )

-

car is lookin fly
-
Clean and simple, very nice  Really loving the wheel colour too
-
Thanks F17BAD, fitted the exhaust but needs to be pushed back about 2 inches, its wedged on as far down the mid silencer pipe as it will go at the moment before it hits the bend, cut loads off
Looking forward to getting the custom pipe, was a bit of a doughnut and should have taken the lot first time round.
VR6 Wherry, the wheels are a biyatch to keep clean and need a quick sponge down every weekend, but nothing worse than any other colour of wheel i suppose. Glad lots of people like the colour, it does'nt quite look true in the photo's, slightly more creamy beige in real life, it's 'Ford Ivory' and you can get it easy in Halfrauds...
-
i had to lob loads off mine too, the cats are sometimes longer on certain cars, but if need be i can measure up my centre pipe and old Cat then you will know the exact lengh mine was all bolted to..
it all fitted perfect on mine and im a perfectionist so im sure u will get it right, wanna see pics of it too
-
That would be wicked mate if you you could have a quick measure up, only if it's easy though. I'm gonna try and slide underneath it tommorrow evening and offer everything up. It's got to be right and it will be, i hate wonky, lop sided, hanging down exhausts....

ill measure up tomo, my old cat is in bens boot, but the rest of the original system is in my garage, ben is coming tomo to work on mine so jobs a good un
