Title: checking steering rack...

how do you check the steering rack.....when turning seem to turn the wheel more than used to  :angry: when driving straight can move the wheel a fair bit before car moves?

Could be track rod ends dude.Jack the car up and wiggle the wheel with your hand at 9 and 3oclock and look for play in the rod ends.
Could also be the uj on the steering column.

It's a little fiddly tbh but not hard.
I would put my money on the track rod ends though  :smiley:

Get a friend to move the steering wheel and then have a look for any play in the track rod ends or rack etc.
