Saw a picture somewhere of a golf with this chunky mk5 look wheel with a mk3 gti airbag. It looked oem.
Does anyone know anything about these steering wheels as I'd love to get hold of one!
-
I know the one you mean but it is not a mk5 one as that will not fit, don't think anyone knew what is was off.
-
Someone reckoned it was an option on polos or lupos but I can't find anything on that either.
On a rare parts forum someone mentioned a jap import one, could that be it?

I would guess so as the car I believe was an import.

Thats the one :afro:
-
Yeah that's it. Is that oem then? I can't find any info on it at all.
-
This is fitted to a Japanese imported vehicle, the owner mentions of various different parts that were fitted as standard.
-
So I got no chance then! Oh well
-
I wouldn't say that but if might be worth investing in a Japanese language course if you're really adamant on getting one for your car.
-
Prob worth the investment as it came with aircon, recaro seats, lower suspension, strut brace, cup holders........

Oh really, is the suspension lower than a standard GTI then and is it fitted with a VW motorsport strut brace?
-
I suspect it was a Vortex option at the time.
-
Has a cognex logo on it...

Cloth battery cover to! Isn't that quite rare?
How much was the car?
-
Is cloth battery cover that rare? I got one on mine.
The Jap spec Golfs do look interesting.
-
Got the price down to €1000 euro...was only buying it for parts as it was a five door 16v in silver which is rare as f@ck here...only 2 pics in the ad which did it no justice....turned out to be immaculate...all the extras and no rust so selling my older one instead...took a few more pics can put them up if u like

I wouldn't say they were, both of my last mk3's had them.
-
Yeah, I'd be interested to see more pics!
