Can anyone help me please.
My MOT is in August but found out yesterday that I need a new rear axle as its bent and that the axle's for the Anniversary Editions are different to all the other models and generally more expensive to buy new off VW. My springs also need replacing too although I was advised to get adjustable ones as this will again be cheaper than getting Anniversary Springs off VW.
Since I have owner the car, some bitter malicious **** has keyed the drivers door. Its not too deep but very noticeable against a Red door. I don't want to pay hundreds getting this fixed professionally, used a link as to where I can buy some touch up paint for the model.
Last thing I need is two rear tyre's hence the bent axle killing them. Just wondering if there is anywhere or anyone that sells part worns for this car as generally there seem to be now cheap(er) tyre option for this car.
Thanks.

Rear beams are all the same, just fit your rear hubs to the new rear beam and your away.

part worns can be found on ebay. As Patch said the beams themselves are the same, you just swap your brakes etc over
Touch up paint can be bought from VW

Cheers guys!
That's a different story to what one guy (brothers mate) in his own garage said yesterday and also different to what another independant garage said in Bridgend. He seemed to think that I had either bent the axle or the stub axle whereas my brothers mate said that i had done the axle and that anniversaries axles were different dimensions and usually cost a lot more!.... The same guy also said that the springs had gone and so would need anniversary springs because normal GTi springs would raise the car 20mm or more! Is this true do you know?
He later said that it would be cheaper to get adjustibles instead, about £140 ish?
I'm more a of bike person so i'm a bit lost with cars. I'll go with the advise off this forum I think! I just want my car fixed and legal for the minimum amount of cash.
Cheers guys!

Can i ask why you think you've bent your rear beam?
-
All the rear beams are the same, yes an Anni is lower as well.
-
Beam is definitely bent (or stub axle someone else said) as my left wheel is not at right angles to the rest of the car and has a bigger gap at the top of the wheel arch when comparing it to the the right side.
I think i hit a curb!

Anni has slightly lower springs than the standard GTI, also has different shocks
