Hi...
Fitted both the front and rear mud flaps today and then gave the car a clean.

I feel properly chastised. Oooooh, aaaaah. Nice feeling.
Love his car, hate his flaps.

Lol!
You saying that just reminded me of the post you made about seeing the young lady bend over infront of your car :P
My mum wanted some, I do find them rather pricey!

You might feel a tart. I am actually an old fart (used as a verb) of a tart. :smug:

May i ask as ive been wondering how are the back ones held on?

Two screws (original holes) that hold the inner wheel arch and one (new hole) into the inner wheel arch and one (new hole) into the rear bumper bodywork.
Really easy to do, more time spent taking the wheels off and on than fitting them.

Thanks.

Martin - the 18" Charleston's look great. I've ordered them for my 61 plate Carbon Grey GTD so they should look ace!

Tonight I actually realised I am in love, new 3 door Gtd dsg in carbon grey with charleston shadows demo is the nuts!

You should be ashamed of yourself telling us your innermost secrets especially when your nuts are involved.

Spoken like a true salesman! Has the Polo GTI been sold?
And.....photos? The Shadows must look good against the all dark exterior.
-
Not sold the polo gti yet can't sell it for 3 months from registering so gave it to one of the other lads. Carbon grey and those wheels are one hell of a combination. Must have combo in my opinion. Lookingat stage 2 then?
-
Yes, at the 'looking' stage only for the minute, I won't be any further on until I've got a firm deal on the exhaust. Looks like I'm going to get myself into one of my regular situations where I buy something because I got a good deal rather than the fact I actually want it!!
I did that with a shirt only yesterday, it looked quite swish on the shop mannequin, but once I got it home and put in on it looked like I was wearing a maternity blouse!
Top tip fellas; when you've got a bit of middle age spare tyre developing don't buy slim fitting shirts!!

Send it to me. I have a 31" waist and no spare tyre at the ripe old age of 63.
I'll PM you my address if you wish to send it to a good home and a good body.

My 15 year old son has beaten you to it Asker. It looks a lot better on him than it did on me. I could do with a 31'' waist again. I'm not sure how to go about this, I think I need a good poo and do some sit ups (not at the same time).....

They are sh!t-ups and they work a treat I am told. I'm upset about the shirt. Needed a blouse badly which slightly worries me as you have given it to your son.
Off for a run in the car with the eldest grandchild. He loves speed. Bless!
On topic: Yes, mud flaps would have kept various lower bits cleaner, but I rather have a dirty, good looking under carriage.
-
Oh yes, the original topic.
I like the front flaps but not the rears.
I like the wheels and paint combo.

Not into flaps or beef curtains.

When I was doing my Xenon retrofit I thought I would take the opportunity to remove the rear flaps as I had the wheels off to fit the autolevelers.
However when I had taken one off I thought it made the back of the car look really plain and stuck it back on again. Much prefer them on now.
-
Don't get me thinking about the xenon retro fit again Mike
Rear mudflaps make the car look like Dumbo. Unless you've got fat wheels.
-

Go for it
A lot of effort required mind, not sure I would tackle it again
-
I don't mind effort (as long as it doesn't require thought as well) it's the £££ that puts me off!
-
Everything puts me off including myself for not factory ordering them in the first place.
Wished mike. was closer for a retro-fit ......... of the Xenons.
