Title: renewing turbo

hello, i have purchased a replacement turbo for the golf, i have read the guide over on ukmkivs.Apart from the parts in that guide to fit the thing, has anybody ever taken the turbo apart and replaced the rings and other associated parts?i notice you can buy refurb kits for ko3's for 30 - 50 quid.
