Well, I was up with the Larks this morning as I had to take my Sister's kids to school. So I made use of her massive TV and Sky, as you do.
"Chop Shop". Couple of geezers from Laandan trying to make the fat one's dream car. He wanted a MK2. 4wd and super fast. So, as you do, you think Syncro/Rallye. But oh no.
Of they pop to a scrap yard and pay £750 for a crushed Scooby. Plan to stick engine and drivetrain onto standard 3 door Mk2. Lots of chopping ensued.
Sadly I had to miss the final 20 minutes.
This is what they created.

ghastly

Horrid
I always wondered how safe the cars that they make are tbh
-
   just no!

When i was reading that i was thinking Mk2, scooby...that has to be sweet...oh how wrong was i!
-
I physically couldnt watch after they pulled the cover off, what the f**k are they thinking!
-
IIRC he was actually a bit upset about how it turned out. Drives a mk5 R32 now
-
he is a great actor. that could have been a fantastic project.
shame
-
So did he actually say he wanted a mk2?? Cos apart from a random badge, that monstrosity bears f**k all resemblence to the original shell!
-
oh dear lord!
i've watched a few of these and they always seem to bodge together an ugly pile of turd and this is no exception
what a pair of muppets! do they actually make a living from this???
-
f**king cnuts
-
I watched this years ago.
But to start it was great. Standard looking mk2 4x4 with a scooby lump.
But the stupid fat body bloke had to ruin it! Johnny wanted it looking standard so he could surprise people, but the bastard they call lepoo wasn't having none off it and cut it to f**k. I think they even used a 206 roof and pillars
-
i 2nd that, i watched it a few years ago and vegas said he wanted something understated but rapid, so they put 4x4 and a scooby lump init when it was standard looking and it was fooking awesome but they couldnt leave it their!!! the dozy fat wayne kerr had to ruin it, i had to turn my tv off in a fit of rage when i saw what he was doing to the mk2.
-
Vegas had the mk5 before they were doin this, his plan sounded great, subtle styling with oodles of power, but that stupid designer totally ignored it and created summit that shoukd have stayed in the scrap yard. Cant call yourself a designer if you ignore what people want. But the engineering is impressive, even tho on one car they fitted 15 inch wheel spacers!
-
fookin hell boys where have you lot been the last 3-4 years! chop shop is the shizz, funny as fook! they do create some horrific cars but good viewing grot! the subaru powered golf is epic!
-
the title of the programme says it all, chop shop, you just knew they would butcher it
i could understand if they needed to extend the front end, but the front and rear lights, and front bumper splat things, awful
-
That makes me cry inside....
-
That Leepooo should have his balls cut off and shoved up Bernies @rse!! dear god he designs some sh1t! the "customers" are never happy so do us all a favour and fook off back to India (if you haven@t already cos Chop Shop is ancient!)
-
Johnny Vegas is a knob now he has a knobby car lol
But y u would do that to a mk2 is beyond me? Mk2 my favourite golf
-
Just watching this on tv , does anyone know what happened to this golf ?
-
That episode is quite old
-
I dont know what happened to this one but i remember going to a bugjam and seeing one of their creations. Martin kemp's gangsta car. It was crushed by a monster truck.
It was very bad, i remember someone jumping on it before it was crushed and it had about 1mm body filler one end of boot and about 10mm the other side. Left to right.

After seeing that episode it put me off watching anymore
