Title: GF wants a new car
Post by: jnufcuk on 26 May 2011, 18:34
Hey all at the moment my gf has a ford ka 1.3 but she wants to get something a bit better which wont be hard

Budget of under £5k something with low mileage and roughly the same size as the ka. So far she has seen a 206? But im not too keen on pugs

I recommended a polo but she doesnt like the look of them.

Maximum size engine she would go to is a 1.6 which is why i also recommended a mini which i know she likes but how good are they?

What would people recommend?

Cheers

ye i know seems alot doubt if it came to parting with that much money she would  be ok with it lol. Im thinking more realisticly between 2k and just under 4k. She wants to move out and get her own flat so i know she wants to spend as little as possible but at the same time get a car that will last for an age

Im hoping she gets a mini then atleast i will be able to drive it without being  :embarassed: like i was with the green ka lol and the same with the pug 206

ye as much as i would like her to have a car like that there is no chance of her buying anything performance wise lol

i think a mini is about as sporty as you will get from her lol. Plus we will have my GTi as the sporty one

Mk4 1.6?

Dont go 206, electrics are shocking! and build quality!

How about a mk5 1.6 FSI,  their under 5k now/

i helped a mate get a car with the same budget recently. After looking at all the options, i hate to say it but there are only 2 options to get the most for oyur money....

newer shape focus and mazda 3 can all be had for that figure and you will get alot of car for your money

How about a Honda Jazz? Apparently they're great to drive and they're pretty cheap now
