Title: New bugs buying a Mk5 GTI for the first time.
Post by: Egbutt Wash on 26 May 2011, 15:27
Congratulations.  You have chosen one of the most complete cars of all time.

Mine has had no faults in 3 years/36,000 miles.  It does not irritate me with any quirkyness, it's fast, stable, easy to drive, and a useful size.  It's good on fuel consumption and servicing is actually quite reasonable.  If also has class way beyond the price tag and above all is great fun to drive.

I only have three slight grumbles about the design; the reversing light is a bit dim, the loading bay is not flat with the seats down and the standard radio lacks clarity.

Buy a Mk5 GTI (in whatever petrol guise you choose) and you will go from this  to this  in no time.
