Title: caddy/polo parts compatability
Post by: lewis1641 on 26 May 2011, 14:04
as some of you know I have a 99 caddy van. I am aware it is based on the 6n polo and assume the front end panels and lights are interchangeable.

i am also aware the 6n2 is a facelift of the 6n do assume the 6n2 panels will fit the 6n and therefore fit the caddy? does anyone know for certain as there is a gti being broken locally and I think the van would look loads better with a new face

Yes it will fit, Seat Ibiza will also fit, I have seen both done.

I read that to do the abiza front you needed to graft on the ends of the seat chassis rails .

no its a nut and bolt swap the only thing you will need to do is splice wires for the lights as the connectors will be different

Just been to view a 6n2 gti that is being brokenlocally. I hadn't realised the wings have a stage line over the arch and along the length of the car. So I'd need doors too and then need to carry the line into the van's rear end.

I guess that is why people go for the seat fronts instead
