What is the standard bhp, 0-60, 0-100 and 1/4 time?
For the...
mk2 1.8 8v
mk2 1.8 16v
mk3 2.0 16v
?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldnt find the thread if it was. Or if anyone could send me to a website or a thread that shows me these times/figures, i would much appreciate it.

This'll give you the comparable BHP:-

any other sites for the times?
-
Don't know of any but if I do think of any, I'll let you know.
-
I was ideally looking for the 1/4 mile and the 0-100 times.

????????
Where did you find 9 secs for 8valve???...I have a completly standard 87 mk 2.....and have proven 0-60 times between 8.1,8.3 secs...consistently...(I have the printouts!!!)...(I have broken the 8 secs once....with some super slick 1st to 2nd ;)...
Granted...Id be waving to you in YOUR rear view mirror...but give us some credit...a GL could prob get there in 9!!!
just my two penneth!

Its true, the Mk2 8v is pants. Most of the time.
But remember the old adage though.
(Mk2 16v especially): GTIs get quicker with age and care. Ever wonder why the Mk2 16v becomes devastating in old age?

Don't forget the figures i quoted are pretty much the ones that vw quote, so the cars are gonna go quite a bit faster! ;D
-
Hmmm... those are not the VW quoted performance stats, I've got an original showroom brochure, lists the MK2 8v 0-60 in 8.3 seconds & top speed of119MPH
-
I think your reading 0-80 km/h, you want 0-100km/h thats 0-62mph.
-
dont know what the 0-60 times are, i had a 91 8v about 6 years ago, felt quick then, got a mk4 1.8 non turbo gti thought she was quick just got a 1986 3dr 8v for ?300 as a winter runner for work and it wipes the floor with me mk4 and that anint that slow so the old 8v's arent as slow as people make owt!! lol
-
Ok I'll clear this one up once and for all, as I've just scanned the VW 'Specification and equipment 1990 model year' (issue January 1990) which shows the performance figures for both the 8v and 16v GTi's:
Performance: GTi GTi 16V
-------------------------------------------------------------
Top Speed, mph/Kph 119/191 129/208
Acceleration, secs 0-50 mph 6.5 6.0
Acceleration, secs 0-60 mph 8.3 7.9
