how to disconnect the gear linkage (cable) (http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k617/stevedashey/081f56c6.jpg)
lift the black plastic tab up and slide the cable away (http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k617/stevedashey/2ea0075d.jpg)
push the cable away then get a flat head screwdriver (http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k617/stevedashey/db0462ea.jpg)
slide the screwdriver in between the platic and the metal then simple twist the pull it out (http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k617/stevedashey/c5e8ccf1.jpg)
then hey presto its out (http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k617/stevedashey/d8b2a273.jpg)
