I have just got some 60mm springs, its a low mileage car with good shocks, so i opted for springs only this time, only it has the standard 6 spoke GL alloys (13/14 inch i forget which one) Any one know if a 60mm drop is too low for these wheels? its ground clearance im worried about, i couldnt go over a speed bump with a 35mm drop so i worry this might be a bit too low (the mrs uses the car more than me see and i would like to keep the sump in once peice)

60mm will be fairly low but i'd say your sump will be safe as long as she doesn't hit speed bumps at 60mph.
Your shocks will fail quickly with 60mm lowering springs though

i fink mine is sat 70mm lower on steels and part from hitting the splitter on everything i've only hit the downpipe a couple times and no sump smashers yet lol

Cannot see your shocks lasting.

They have only done 67k miles, so hopefully they have a bit of life in them, its no big deal, a whole kit is £100ish. Saying that i might sell these springs and change for a 35mm kit, I know they sit nicely at 35 and remain practical. My passat is sat at 60/40 on stock shocks and has done for the past 6 years and 40k miles. And shocks are spot on!

Done 120mm on 14" GL wheels. You will be fine.

You can get coilovers for £150!
Your shocks wont last long and you will have buy new ones and refit everything twice.
How much are four shocks?

I dont want coilovers, had them on my last car and ride was a bit too hard, the car rattled its self to bits, I work in a garage so refitting twise is no issue if need be, but i dont want to spend any money on it to be honnest, these springs were super cheap, i dont keep any of my cars long enough to have that problem

60mm springs are probably going to be harsher then coils.

Thanks for the pics, I might just be the coilovers i had, they were awfull, i have driven a renault 5 on the bump stops for 20 miles and it wasnt as hard as my coilovers  and im really not joking!
My bro is after my springs now so i might strike a deal and get a full kit, not sure yet.
