Title: Looking at an MK4 GTI from ABT
Post by: adm on 23 May 2011, 19:14
Hi all,

Had a GTI MK4 couple of years ago which I sold for a Nissan 350Z, now that I need a 4 seater again, I came across an 02 MK4 GTI 1.8T originally tuned by ABT to 240bhp, all going well I'll be upgrading to a bigger turbo, stage 2 re map, stronger  brakes and a new clutch if needed, while exterior will stay the same as the car already come with an ABT kit. As a general rule is there anything to look for ?

Welcome to the forum.

What is the spec it has now to get 240bhp.

No sure as yet, my understanding is that the engine has been twicked around and the current owner had a re map stage 1 and a FMIC, I'm trying to get more details on what mods ABT made and more info in general but not much out there

It might well be, I'll get more details next time I see the guy, Google doesn't seem to be very helpful, anyone know what to look for in an original ABT car?
