Title: My new (to me) Red/Black seats
Post by: nathanpotato on 23 May 2011, 16:00
These just arrived today. Probs not to everyone’s taste but I got a thing for red and black and for £200 including courier I think they’re pretty good.

Yeah I’m looking for either some black leather ones or red/black colour concept ones but not in too much of a rush so ill see if I can get any cheap. The only problem is my they seem to all be electric window ones and I only have the winders so gna look into how hard it is to fit them.

And the rear bench, didnt have the door cards sadly. But it was including postage so i thought it was a pretty good deal and there in great condition just some slight cracking on the front ones.

Yeah just realised I will need them out again if I get a carpet my first time fitting the seats so it took me around 3 hours in the rain don’t fancy it again in a hurry but now I know what I’m doing should be easier.

They look good, but in a dragon green car? Not sure that works too well :undecided:

red and green must not be seen

Yup, based on that logic I think you must sell them to me to go in my red car

I was always going to have red and black though just love it, always have I had seat covers before these .

Are they really not recaros though? They were advertised on eBay as colour concept seats and I thought all those were recaros, so there just standard seats re trimmed, they seem deeper than my standard CL’s though.

If there really just standard seats re trimmed ill need to get onto eBay since this would mean there worth less surely?

They are indeed just standard gti seats re-trimmed, they'll be deeper than your CL's but they defo aren't Recaros. If you look in the pic below you can see proper colour concept seats have 'colourConcept' stitched into them:

Damn thought it was too good to be true, how much less do you think these are worth then?

I like them but bought them thinking they were normal colour concepts and had I not posted here I would have sold them on as that and had hassle with eBay as this seller will now.

That’s the link

200 is a ok price still if the leather is decent quality and condition

deffo not recaros, the pic i put up shows recaro and the pic dom put up are the actual red/blacks out of a CC, but dom is wrong on one thing, the Colour concept writing is not stitched in, it is actually a heat stamp marking

Such a shame I just saw colour concept and assumed they would be legit. Makes sence why I can't find the levers on the side too that I heard about. Also he tried to get me To buy them out of eBay glad I didn't now hopefully I will be able to get some money back.

Meh, that's a technicality....you knew what I meant

@nathanpotato: I'm guessing that they aren't heated?

Still they look like nice seats to me, and at £40 per person not bad!

I will have a set of standard 3door GTI black door cards for sale soon, depending on your location you can have them for say £25? (I'm not sure how much sets normally go for. I have both types of handles: electric window and electric mirror handles, and manual window (so no switch hole) with manual mirror holes which looks like the type you would need. You can have both incase you upgrade to electric sometime. I think I might have a pair of black window winders too I can include.

Cheers

Adrian

Thanks for the help everyone I managed to get £50 back for the seats so for £150 I’m pretty happy.
