just wondered if anyone had the joy of being featured.
Everymonth I wonder through the pages of PVW and see cars that frankly i dont think are nice enough to be featured...
when we have so many nice ones here!
-
Mine has been, years ago, way before I owned it though
-
I'd like to see one of the mags visiting the various Club meets around the Country. Like a tour of the country and reviews on each meet...
I know that they have done some, but not all over the country
JV - Do you know what mag it was featured in? I might have it in the attic
-
ive written to me mag with pics and got nothing (only a promise of a shoot out which never happened!)
but now im planning on a 20v T ive had offers....there is ore to life than a bloody 20v turbo!!!
i thougth a 16v on carbs would have been a more interesting set up!
-
Would be good, I don't think PVW really have any interest in more normal VW events. Golf+ may be more up for it.
It is supposed to have been on the front of The Golf some time many years ago. 94-96 time I would guess. I have The Golf from, I think, April 96 that has quite a big feature on all the engine work Power Engineering did to it. Looks just the same then as it does now! Well, apart from the bend I put in the front splitter yesterday
-
Velly, send me a load of pictures, spec, write up etc and yours can be car 10 here:

Oh right. You kept this a bit quiet. What did you do??
-
I sent my details on Cab project to Golf and PVW last year and they both where interested once the project is completed - as they said never gone a GLi Cab in standard form before that had been restored. (Well it won't be that standard form once I've finished with it)

Do you reackon the Mags would be interested in a battered 16v running on LPG?
I guess thats me out till the next car then!
The landy was a feature vehicle in a landy mag...wrecks to riches...bout how it started as a battered site truck and what I had done to it.
-
We have had a few started with my cab in The Golf quite a few years ago now, the mk1 has been in most of the mags over the last year or so but taht was when it belonged to teh old owner (apart from once) And the best on ewas with Volkswagen Driver with both the Limited's on the front Cover, and it came out teh day of inters last year so that was cool.
PVW IMO do to many foreign cars, some cars in The Golf are sh!t lol sorry! an both these mags woulnd't do the 2 Limiteds and guess what the reason was???

go on then... what was it? they look too 'normal'? ;)
-
almost lol "they are too standard"
-
Standard is good in my opinion, but they still don't really count as Classics and a standard car isn't of intrest to most of the mags, even if it is a limited!
Shame really cos I think their missing out!
-
So they'd rather feature a standard 8 or 16v mk2 with the same old mods thrown at it than two limiteds??!!
That makes sense. Lets ignore 5% of the total production run of the Limited to feature the same mk2 as last month but in a different colour.
I should be a features editor. After next weeks labotomy, of course.

With the money you've been spending on the Red Rocket recently it looks like a surgeon has already carried out the operation!
-
LOL, thanks mate
-
Only jokin cos I'm jealous.
Your replacement screen probably cost as much as my car!
-
almost lol "they are too standard"
Too standard!!! but how bloody rare are they!!!
esp to have two in the same house hold.
have you got a feature with retro cars???
may mate in his rallye has one at Llandow and he said its with a limited.
-
No not me, my car is still in bits not going anywhere for a while!
-
tbh both mags have gone sh!t over the past year, too much plastic tat and cars which no longer resemble what they should.
I would love to have been at a photoshoot with TWO limiteds there, especially yours claire. Still can't get that image of the guy at the gates at BVF last year. "cor sounds like your fan belt needs changing", "errr no mate thats the supercharger!" what a twwot.
people are loosing their site in a world that is becoming far to involved with what is bolted on rather than what is meant to be there.

I agree, limiteds are lush and two at once is like a threesome with Christina and Brittney!
The mini has been in both minimag and miniworld on a couple of occasions at race meets and rolling road days.
HAving only just got back into golfs after 5 years away I have been really disapointed with the magazines. The mini ones are great, a good mix of classic restos and mentally modified beasts. PVW and Golf+ just seem to be edging more and more into Pax Mower and Revs territory :-(
