just thought i'd post this quick how to.
step 1: go to scrap yard at weekend, find car with knackered momo gear knob.
step 2: take off said gear knob and put in pocket pay for it
step 3: take home and wonder what you're gonna do with it.
step 4: have a look at what you've got. a tarnished top badge and bottom ring, worn out leather, top badge fallen off:

step 5: pull apart to see how it all works:

step 6: get out the autosol and brasso to get alloy shiny again:

step 7: pull off manky leather and roughly cut new bits:

step 8: after applying glue to both faces, waited for it to cure then pull leather tight into shape:

step 9: trim to fit:

step 10: re fit other parts:

step 11: sit back and feel proud of your efforts and think that in the time it took you do re-trim a gear knob ainsley harriot has just cooked dinner on t.v.!!!!
step 12: decide to stick the photo's on forum with a smart ass title!!!

Joe - you are a thief and don't approve, however, you were 100% correct when you diagnosed the problem with my brothers overheating 16v. It was indeed a distorted seal on the expansion tank .Nick some thing else and I'll think of a problem to ask you about.
Isv's and internal trim is easy to come by. If you put a drive shaft down your joggers you either get admired or slapped!.
