hello fellow enthusiast,
I've just received my BBS LM Replica's Back from the paint shop earlier.
Spec.
Fronts 19 x 8.5
Rears 19 x 9.5
P.C.D = 100
ET = 35
C.B = Ø 72
Hole = 5
Because i have lowered suspension (Not to low) I was told by the previous owner of them, to go with.
front 215/35/19 stretched.
rear 235/35/19 stretched.
my concern is are there only certain tyre's that can be stretched, or am i ok to purchase any make of tyre.
any help appreciated
-
All tyres will stretch,some better than others.My tyre of choice are Falken 452's,stretch very easily.
-
215's all round mate and that will be a nice stretch on the rears, +1 on patches choice
-
i was thinking of 215 front and 235 rears what you guys think. will upload pics soon
-
215 and 225

would that be the best fit for my mk4
-
going off subject a little but wont your ride be hard with 19 plus only going with 35 profile tyre mate
-
not sure mate as these are my first 35 profiles so won't know until they are on the car,
-
i would imagine you will feel every little bump in the road pal, i have alsways though 19s were to big especialy if you use it daily well thats my opinion will look alot better sat on 19s but ride will be hard a fook i imagine

It will, also stretching tyres tends to make the sidewalls really hard so yes you will feel every bump.
-
luckily its my weekend gti, and i have a 5dr gti AGN for the week days so ride stiffness isn't an issue unless it starts to fracture or break components, through harsh vibrations.
-
as wayne said pal, when strectching tyres side walls become really hard so will make it really stiff i would see if you cn go 40 profile unsure if you can on a 19 inch tyre but i would check mate you wont want to be doing to many miles if going for 35s pal

You need 35 profile to keep the gearing / speedo correct. :smiley:

35's it is then

This place is full of women,oohhhh it's not going to be comfy etc........
Those who choose 19's don't care about comfort,we'd buy old school range rovers if we did.
I use mine every day,yes it harsher than on the std 16's but who cares when it looks good.

thats a fiar point patch i am probably just getting to old mate :laugh:
-
choosing 19's really means looking good so as patch said you need to go low profile to complete the look/fitment correctly, if you wan t comfort then 17/18's with bigger profile
-
as mentioned earlier comfort isn't really an issue as this is my weekend car, and not a daily user, so looks over comfort any day..
appreciate the info tho guys i'll purchase some tyres now.
I've had the lips chromed and the centre's painted white, (and its on a black 3dr GTI) So i'm taking abit of a gamble because i'm not sure how they will look on the car.

Recommended Spacers for the fronts 8.5 and rears 9.5 on these wheels,, (BBS LM's 5x100)

I would try them 1st and see how they sit.
