Quick question, what is the oil capacity of a 1.8t (Auq) including a filter change please.

4.33 litres. Fill the new filter up as much as possible before screwing on

5w30 synta gold as well I believe :)

About £28 for 5 litres on eBay when I got mine far cheaper than VW

Reason for asking was I had the pick up pipe replaced today, the general view is that it needs replacing around 75k, mine was near 116k so got the parts and one of the engineers in work offered to sort for me as I was working, all in all took just over 2hrs, also fitted a new oil filter.

I was shocked at the state of the pick up pipe, it was nearly blocked so could have been very expensive soon.   :shocked:

I must do mine at the next service, no idea how bad it is in there and on 61k now

Is it meant to be replaced on the 75k service???? by VW??

I imagine doing this will add life to the engine along with sticking to the oil service schedule with high mileage!

Nope not meant to be replaced but the general view is that it should be, I had no record of it being changed so did it for piece of mind.

Mines on 145k now, also thought about doing this but do regular oil changes every 5k... I feel like I'm treading on eggshells all the time, puts me right off the car, nevermind giving it some welly and having fun in the damn thing! :)
