Title: Sump gasket
Post by: packardjc on 19 May 2011, 17:44
So my rocker and sump gaskets both need replacing (thanks to the tray under the sump I didn't even know it was pissing oil) and my mechanic says he's having a bit of trouble locating a sump gasket.

I used to have a mk2 and used BBT to get my bits but can't seem to find a mk3 equivelant website so was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a sump gasket for a GTI 16v?

Or try the main dealers

Don't know how good the GSF/ECP sump gaskets are but the rocker gaskets have a reputation for leaking - mine has been absolutely fine though so I'd be happy to try a sump gasket from either.  Sump is a to-do job for me also
