Title: MK3 Alarm / Immobiliser

Hi all,

Without sounding too Dim. I was just wondering if a 1996 P Gti should come with factory fit Alarm / Immobiliser and if it does when locking/unlocking should there be like any lights that flash etc to let you know its set?  :huh:

My car is a 98 reg 8v and it did not come with an alarm as standard. In terms of the immobiliser that is built into the ignition/key. In other words without the key the car is virtually impossible to pinch.

I have not bothered fitting an alarm or an after market immobiliser to mine as the electrics on MK3's are temperamental at the best of times  :smiley:

Any alarm will be aftermarket or dealer fit.

Coded key immobiliser is standard 1996 onwards
