Title: MK3 Sump gasket
Post by: CM690 on 18 May 2011, 10:06
Do MK3 Golfs (1997) have a sump gasket? I phoned a local parts shop and they said they didn't do one you have to go direct to VW so I phoned a couple of dealers and they said that my Golf didn't have a gasket they used a gasket sealer instead?

Any thoughts?

I was meant to be doing my oil pump today with my brother but he just phoned and told me he has ordered a sump gasket from a local parts shop near him and it isn't coming until Friday! *angry face*

The last time i changed a sump on a mk3, it was a 1.4, the dealer gave me sealant instead of a gasket.
