is there any form of coolant flush/deterent i can run to remove the traces of oil from the system from when my head gasket popped last week?? have flushed with water a few times but it dosnt seem to shift the oily residue from pipes etc, all is running fine since i rebuilt it but all the smeg from the system is making its way to the top (expansion bottle) and would really like to rid this so i can check all is running as it should be!! , oil has been flushed and is fine, hasnt used a drop and is clean, so just want to get this cleaned 100% so i can monitor it to make sure nothing is mixing any more?
cheers for any help

Just be aware that any bio agent will begin to degrade your rubber hoses, o rings, gaskets etc as they are all oil based as well.
-
Use a mug of non bio Persil, in the system, and run up for 15 to 20 mins, flush out thoroughly, and fill with 50/50 water antifreeze mix.

hhmm food for thought, its a 20 year old car i dont want all perishable bits to go faster than they are already so maybe the flush isnt a good idea?? but then the thought of putting persil in the car seems wrong, might make it smell nice though :)

Calgon works well and is designed to work with rubber seals etc etc

I've heard of a dishwasher tablet being used too.

Just stick in two part Holts rad cleaner Gaz, then stick a hose on the end of the pipe and flush it all out
For the sake of £8 quid I'm sure there is more harmful products in detergents than stuff thats been tried and tested. I know they stick alot of sodium in detergents which is not good for the car LOL.

Too much salt can lead to a heart attack

dishwasher tablets get stuff really clean, washing up liquid works well as well

TFR - Traffic Film Remover is the stuff you need to get all traces of oil out of a coolant system.
Stick it in neat and let it run and then flush. You should only need to do it once and there will be 0 trace of oil left in there.
Works a treat.

You've then got to flush all traces of tfr out though, as that's powerful sh!t!!I'd just run water through it,and flush and refill with water, run again, flush again etc, and repeat until it empties clean, then refill with coolant.
