Title: k-jet kr 16v vacume lines
Post by: kniterider on 17 May 2011, 20:42
been running the car without the upper cambelt cover (stupid yes i know) on since rebuilding after head gasket failure on wednesday, kept this off as wasnt happy with the tensioner position / belt tightness so am keeping any eye on over this week, any way, a cable tie that was holding fuel lines to the metering head to throttle body pipe, broke resulting in a fuel leak ( fuel pipe rubbed on cam sprocket) this has been sorted, but it also rubbed through the vacume pipe that connects to the lower half of the air box, this connected to the divertor flap thing i think, so have plugged that hole as its not used anyway and car is running ok, there is some kind of breather valve that has a vacume line and a plug on it, basically i want to know what can be unplugged and removed (as per the bit ive disconnected already), this breather valve thing was full off oil when the head gasket blew and is probably past it now, and maybe put a catch tank in its place??

any ideas on any of these lines etc would be great :)

the valve your talking about, is it on the underside of the air intake behind the metering head?

thats the overrun cutoff valve it helps bring the engine down to idle, i wouldnt remove it as you may find the engine stalling at junctions etc
