Title: gazmans mk2 project update 13/08/11

i have had my mk2 now for a few months and it has come on quite alot now.

here are a few pics of the car the day i picked her up.

as you can see it has the g60 archers on and it was fully smoothed, so i started taking the archers off, took the vento front end off and got the 4 spot grill on, it also didnt have any interia, so i sorced some very nice tweed seats and a cd player, and we attempted to fit it, but this was harder that thought.

when we took the lower dash off it all fell out

i then noticed that i was loosing lots of water from the rad, so a new rad was required

so then this was the car before i took it to the garage

the car went to the garage to get the engine bay resprayed, engine re built and cleaned, undersealed, new suspention fitted. they pics will be up soon as i get some, but thanks to purelyvag for the engine work

Looks like it was flushed but then pushed in at some point.

Post by: gazman1011 on 16 May 2011, 16:53: well i bought it off a guy who saved it from a chav, everything on the car was smoothed, so before we took it we had to beark in! lol. not impressed, and yes i had had a nightmare with the wiring, things have been cut and twisted together, luckaly it was good under the archers, alot of filler tho through out the car, and im not a lover of the vento front end, so back to 4/2 spot grill.

Post by: gazman1011 on 26 May 2011, 19:20: hello all, things have moved on since i got it back from the garage, well i didnt get what i thought i was, but what i did get was good, i got the engine stripped and cleaned, get the top end poder coated, i will get pics on when i can, also i needed to fit a new wiring loom for the head lights, what a job it tured out to be, i compleatly killled the car, or i thought, all i forgot to do was connect the brown earth wires, but all is good now i will post the pics up tomoz, but ill have a busy day as ill be replacing the front wings.

Post by: gazman1011 on 07 June 2011, 12:45: hi all, well i been busy with the car over the last few weeks. the engine is done, but not working properly, so thats still on going, but i have now fitted 2 new wings, new ish tailgate, then re sprayed. got HIDs as i couldnt see a thing, gave her a dam good clean inside out, new center console.

here is a well over due update, as you might know the car is getting an abf dropped in as we speak and get the car back at the end of the month, but i have bought some new shoes for the car in some porsch D90s

Fantastic recovery work on a car that cried out for it!... Only negative comment from me is your illegal HID's. They do my nut in.

I was going to make one for my dad's Mk2 for him but by the time I priced up the parts it really wasn't worth spending the time making one when you can pick them up on eBay for £25:
