Title: Big Problem
Post by: Nebbo on 29 March 2005, 11:19
On driving home from Uni today my damn car decided to die!  Here is the situation - Speeding along at about 70mph and all of a sudden there is this like Pop sound (loud but not extremely loud) then the car just dies in mid flow!!! luckily managed to get the it into a layby, where i tried to start it again - but nothing! The engine is turning but nothing is happening!

Any ideas? not what i need right now when im as skint as a MoFo!

Hi mate!

Polys engine problem turned out to be a very simple job to fix

2 Of the wires on the hall sender had come loose, replaced that and it ran almost straight away.

Ah this reminds me....memories. About 15 years ago I was doing 80+ on the outside lane of the M3 in an Astra and the camshaft snapped clean in half  managed to get to the hard shoulder (just) switched to german motors not long after that....

Could be the fuel pump relay, does the pump prime when you turn the key?
