Title: Uneven tyre wear, no adjustment?
Post by: Big Tone on 16 May 2011, 10:15
After removing the two front wheels, I noticed that they have worn on the inside, am I right in saying that there is no adjustment?

I have standard susp at the mo  going for some coilies soon.

Go somewhere with laser tracking, not like Kwik fit etc, a decent outlet,, i find HIQ quite good,  £20-25  for laser tracking, dont pay more than that though!

I agree £20-25 and don't go to chain outlets    plus worth checking your track rods, i replaced mine & the lower suspension arms as no matter how many time i had my tracking done my tyre wore down the inside  all fine now .

Yep avoid kwik fit, tbh laser tracking is the best bet.

Wheels in Motion in Aylesbury did my 4motion Passat last year granted it cost me £95.00, but the difference it made was unbeleivable.....That was for 4 wheel alignment...

Go to the dealer nearest you.  Cost is approx £50 depending on what they adjust.  Well worth it :afro:

Do this, they have the proper equipment to set up all of the geometry rather than just the toe angles (tracking)

My tracking needs sorting had both front tyres 3 months around 2/3k miles and they've worn on the inside.
My car is lowered and I also have wider tyres(225) alloys where fitted by previous owner and I done know if he got it all tracked after fitting wider wheels and lowering kit. Hoping by getting them done sorts out this uneven wear on my tyres!,
