Title: Removing rear bumper skin from bumper iron

i've got a 1989 cabriolet and I'm tryin to remove the bumper skin from the iron. I've removed the bumper from the car and have managed to push all the clips down the middle of the bumper through the iron but something seems to be holding the top of the skin to the iron bumper. Any ideas on what is holding it and how to free it?

Turns out there is a load of mastic along the top of the bumper iron.
