Hi,
I'm new to the site posted a welcome earlier.
Got a '99 1.8t gti, my neighbour has one as well and has told me that the diaphragms go on the original DV'S. question is how do you tell when it has gone?
At the moment it makes a whistling noise when I change gear.
Do I need a new one?

welcome mate, 9 out of 10 times there worn, one of the first mods most people get, mine snapped when i removed it as it was brittle,
forge 007p or a split r

take the thin pipe off and try to blow down it, if you cant then its ok, if you can then its buggered
-
+1 replace it for the 007p
awesome gti got mine from

do they come with a spring fitted? as i've emailed that awesome website to ask if the 007p with blowoff comes with a spring but he hasn't answered also emailed guy from dpm but no reply there either

when it dumps it will probably flutter rather than hiss.
