Check your vacuum pipes.
And also check the pipes to the servo..
-
doneeeeeeeeee that :O still same
-
mines been doing this for a while so i know your frustration!
mine got worse when i cleaned throttle body and isv and idles at about 1600-1800 when fully warmed up. i must have an air leak somewhere and as i've only removed the tb and isv it must be somewhere on one of those. Buggered if i can find it though
-
Doublecheck the pipe from the TB to the brake servo, there is a one-way vavle and they rot out. Also check your butterflys are not sticking open/loose, especially the little one.
-
this is how the golf sounds right now (with out the tapping) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrHP1fU7lAc&feature=related :nerd:
-
The one in the video seems to be a stepper motor problem, but golfs don't have these.
-

Does anyone know what this problem is?????????? im going crazt

so you've checked the vacuum pipe that goes from the inlet manifold to the ecu. mine perished the otherside of the bulkhead just before the ecu and was doing exactly what you're describing. you can't see it unless you remove the scuttle panel.
-
i always check that and still i get the same issue
-
Take the intake pipe off and press the butterfly closed with your finger whilst engine is running.
-
oki now my car keeps geting stuck at 2.000 rpm i just drove :|

What size is this pipe? Just want to order some to replace.
Cheers

Yes very easy to replace

Unhook from pedal and throttle body, remove and then fit new, clip back on and adjust as required.
-
Unhook the cable from the throttle body. Start the car and see if it still sticks when at idle. If it does your problem won't be the cable or the pedal. I had idle problems for a while. Vagcom said it was an intermittent fault with the coolant temp sensor so I replaced it but it still happened. A week later I noticed the big earth from the gearbox was loose. Cleaned up the terminal, tightened it up and it solved my problem, so it's worth checking and cleaning ALL your earthing points
-
its none of that as i hhad that prob once. the thorttle body needs resetting, theres a way to do it without the vag, think you need take battery off for 20mins, then connect it then turn ignition on (dont start the car) you will hear a clicking noise i think, after that it should go quiet (dont turn ignition off till the noise has gone) turn ignition off, take key out lock up have a beer or tea or whatever you drink then go back to car and start the car, if it stops doing the reving business then your good if it still carries on then vag com it.
try this (its what i was on about)

thing is i left it for 20 min when it cooled down n it was fine again it just when the car gets hot? :undecided:
