Title: Choke???
Post by: Ferdinor on 13 May 2011, 23:05
ok got a small problem with my golf mk3 1.4cl abd engine, witch is,....... the revs seem to stick at like 2k and 3k and wont go back down all the time, now im not sure if its due to the auto choke maybe? but when i unplug this plug (not sure what it is) It then begins to idle perfectly fine?

So if anyone knows what sensor this goes to and what it does that would be great
ok so whilst i was trying to solve the problem i thought i would clean the tb whilst doing that i found this.....

Would this make an air leak or is it pretty tight seal still? if so are these expensive?  :undecided:
Any ideas?

If it is running fine unplugged then I would say replace the throttle body.

I don't think you can get just that part

Reference the 2nd picture, that is the throttle body mount, cheap enough to replace as it will not be helping.
