i know petrol prices are sky high at the moment, but do you think this is about right,
i bought myself a 1.8t yesturday, i put £30 fuel in, and have done 70 miles, just short journeys to and from school ,town ect
i have put my foot down a few times but i wouldent say i have booted it, just pickin up fast to about 40ish
before this i had a 1.4 that hardly used fuel, infact £30 would of last me a week, but obviously i dident put me foot down in that lol
so does 70 miles for £30 sound about right for a 1.8t?
-
Yep, if anything thats about 6 miles too many
-
Do a search mate, lots of posts about fuel usage. i use £70 on a 300 mile run, but then im not suprised the way i drive
Does sound a bit lean, get her serviced etc and see how she goes from there

Mmmm, they can easily stay in the 20s to the gallon if it's only around town.
-
I do short journeys/city driving and in my agu (which I believe has the poorest economy of the 1.8ts) filling up is about £70 I guess and get about 220 miles. Have you scanned it for any fault codes? Although I guess even that may not highlight the issue.
I've never seen 30+mpg on my display.... (usually low 20's)
-
The thing is, you get sod all petrol for £30 when its £1.40 a litre..........
Just realised i do 64 ish to £20 so 80 something to £30................ Could be your MAF?

i havent scanned it no, i got the car yesturday , and i thought if there was any faults, a light would be on the dash.
im gunna fill her up again tomorrow, and drive it as normal as possible, and see if that helps.

AGU's light never come on  Their only there for show I think
-

Unfortunatly i have a in10 conviction and a lc20, i got them in 2009, but i have only been passed a year.
im only a named driver on the policy too, the better half is the policy holder.

thats really good, considering the prices of petrol aswell.
-
I get about between 100-110 miles to 20 quid mainly driving around town but I am driving like a complete girl at the moment lol, if I have fun it soon goes down.
-
Dont look in the Tdi section :lipsrsealed:
Mines back up to 42 town and 61 motorway with a 69 best
-
For £30 I think your getting around 22 litres or so.... of normal unleaded.
I can get 180-200 miles to £30 just now, that's about 60% motorway 20% A and B road driving 20% town driving with a good few blasts.... Cant really get under 150 miles to £30 :undecided: And mine is a AGU if that makes any difference?
Works out between 37-40 ish MPG. Yours works out about 14-15 MPG  would get your car checked out, something cant be right...
-
for 30 quid with petrol a 1.34 round here i get at least 140 mile of round the town driving! but thats my lass driving mostly so it gets driven sensibly
