Title: "linking Error"

Yet another day, Another problem

Everytime i try to scan the car this message keeps popping up :sad:

is there any way of getting around the problem?  its sending me bonkers :laugh:

Is it a handheld scanner or VAG-Com/VCDS?

Also might be a silly question, but have you put your ignition on when you scan it?

its a scanner of fleabay the ones that everyones been getting

yeah have tried it with ignition on/off and still nowt...

I would try another scanner or send that on back. That one might be faulty :huh:

But it works on the r lasses car and mates seat cupra..but not mine

Its driving me mad mate...

my m8 brought one and starts connecting to the car then stops and says linking error but works on other cars so must be scanners are sh!te lol

Have you got an aftermarket stereo fitted? Check to see the harness hasnt been bodged

The stereo is an aftermarket one, i had no power too the obd port before, so ive had the stereo fitted properly...and now i have got power but its not reading the ecu... :angry:

then maybe the k line wire has been cut if the harness has been hacked
