Hey all
can anyone advise me, to help me clear up these problems
which seem to be the 3 main problems with MK3 GTI's as seen on here
http://www.rollinondubs.net/overseer/Golf%20GTI%2016v/PVW_MK3_Fixes.jpg
1 - "this is problem is now sorted" - throttle body just needed cleaning :)
2 - Relay thing - having this problem "oil light flashing & car stalling" but i'm still a bit unsure which part and where it goes that i need to replace,  is it, as quotedÂÂÂ
Try changing the ECU Relay position no3 pt no 16590638y, this cured mine of the same problem and cost me less than a tenner.
3 - Car die's and won't start at all
I had this problem back on the last boxing day my ignition coil went, i replaced it, and all was good again up till last night,
and the same thing has now happened again
does anyone have any thoughts on this
i bought a new ignition coil from GSF car parts on the 3rd Jan 2005, and i must of only done 1000 miles since, and its now gone again? :(
would this be due to a faulty part? or because its not a offical VW part? or something else causing it to go again so soon
any help advice on parts 2 & 3 would be must apperciated
many thanx
Ben

REPLACE TOP ROW 3RD ACROSS FROM LEFT RELAY NUMBER 30 (THIS IS ABOVE FUSE BOARD )AND THIS SHOULD CLEAR BOTH YOURE PROBLEMS I THINK ,MAKE SURE ITS A VW PART ITS ABOUT 10 QUID ,VW PROBABLY SHUT TODAY CAUSE BANK HOLIDAY HOPE THIS HELPS

great thanx for advice Carl
any idea if it may of been down to the relay part failing, which put strain on the new ingintion coil, therefore causing that to fail again?
many thanx

Even in 2005 throttle bodies needed cleaning.

^ Fail, 2004.
Spares to carry on a long trip:
Spare coil (second hand if you wish). The early, early MK3's had metal covered coils.
ECU & Fuel pump relay.
