Title: Silly question on Golf Bottom Ball joint
Post by: JCH on 12 May 2011, 09:58
Just changed my bottom arms, and ball joints yesterday - all seems fine.
Get to work, and the bloke at work reckons i should have greased the ball joint, and cup it sits into.
I have never greased them before when changing, as i didn't think you were supposed to.

Who's right?  :embarassed:

no need to grease, bit stupid as you want the cup to bond with the ball joint to stop it slipping, otherwise its all supported by just that one bolt

Yeah you were. The ball joint is greased up under that boot anyway.
