What about the ignition amplifier?

I blew an ECU on a mk2 digifant a week or so ago, borrowed another ECU and took it with the bracket and ignition amplifier, had the same symptoms as you when I fitted it. Put the original amplifier back on with new ECU back on and fired first time....

Yeah I swapped it an put my original one back on but still nothing. But took the ecu off an put it on my dads Gti an it fired his up. So I am really puzzled "/

Can only suggest the obvious really, spark from coil, dizzy cap, leads, good earth, etc

When your ECU went did it completely flood your engine? I put a blow torch on the spark plugs to dry them out, and had an air line down the spark plug holes to dry everything out...
