Getting my cambelt and waterpump replaced next week...and being the untrusting sort when it comes to stealers...is there any visual checks I can do beforehand...and afterwards which will convince me that the work has actually been performed.
Yes I will ask for the old parts back...but they could just give me anything and I would be none the wiser.
From lifting the bonnet on which side is the cambelt...where is it...is it behind a plastic cover...is it only accesible from underneath the car...???
Any advice greatly appreciated...thank you,
Billy

pop the cover and mark it with a marker pen / or date it

If the car feels a lot slower then you know the job was done.
The 17 year old minimum wage grease monkey that all main dealers seem to employ will have set your timing way out.
Good car + British dealer = ruin

Mark it in some way is the best option
