Title: GTI front brake dust plates query ?.

Hi everyone.
     Just wondering if anyone knows if the dust plates/shields (not sure of correct term !) on the front brakes on mk3 gti's are different depending on the size of discs ?.Basically,are they the same on cars with 280mm front discs as they are on cars with 288mm front discs ?.
     I'm only asking as i'm about to replace all the brakes on mine and have painted the calipers and carriers already.I have a pair of front dust plates off an early gti which had 280mm discs but mine are 288mm.If they are the same i'd like to paint the pair iv'e got loose to save time when fitting otherwise iv'e got to take the old one's off,clean,prep and paint them before i can get on with fitting new stuff. :smiley:

They are all the same...
They are not required.
Throw then in the bin if you want...before they rust away and fall off.

When i did the brake conversion on mine they looked a bit rough so i lobbed them in the bin.
They arnt really needed. :smiley:
