Gonna start my service tonight and we use to use engine flush on my old cars, is there any rule against this on golf mk4 2.0 8v??

It can cause problems by dislodging crap that is better left alone.

If the engine has been looked after and serviced regulary then i can't see that flushing fluids can do any harm tbh.

50/50 it can still cause issues even more so on a turbo engine.

Never had problem with flush, although i don't tend to use it unless i service a car which hasn't been looked after.
Also never heard of anyone having a problem with it.

I use it every time I change my oil and have done for the last 13 years....(2-3 oil changes a year depending) I've never had a problem

I doubt engine flush caused that. Even just changing the oil could cause that to happen.
Once the fresh oil is circulating it will dislodge all the crap.
That was down to lack of maintenance.
If your engine has that much build of crap in, then its only a matter of time till it goes bang.
