Title: External bore measurements for milltek decat
Post by: Gareth F on 10 May 2011, 02:09
I know its for a Tdi but some of you petrol guzzlers might know.
Im trying to find a reducer to fit a Milltek tdi decat to my standard system but cant seem to find out which reducer to buy! Does anyone know what the External measurements are of the two pipes im joining? All ive seen is that its milltek 2.5" and standard is 2.25" but dont know if thats internal or external  :undecided:

Cheers for the replies

I ordered one off ebay in the end with the following measurements:

External Diameters approx.  - 68mm - 64mm - 60.5mm

Large end I.D.  65mm, small end 57mm

Overall Length approx. 130mm.

Looks like it is too small for what i want :(

Im like a kid on sweets at christmas!
Just checked you link out (thanks for it btw) but how does a "2.5 sleeve join 2.5" to a 2.25"? Surely one end it way too big

Jetex website isnt exactly great at higlighting that, the info makes it look like a normal straight sleeve with kink bit!
And you say that fits over both ends perfectly?

Fitted lovely - the clamps then hold it place   I ended up with a longer sleeve as they didn't have that particular in stock and I needed it next day!  So ended up having to cut approx 1" off the Milltek downpipe

Thought I had pics of it but can't find them now  :undecided:

The easier option would have been to buy the THS downpipe as that comes with adaptors   Didn't know that myself until after I bought the Milltek

Well ive emailed the company seeing if i can get my money back and buy the other one instead, hope my sob story works on them

Dont think i could have got the THS downpipe for £62 though

Also did you fit a TT shifter to your derv? was flicking through some bit on here and it caught my eye and im bored today lol.

Well if you've only paid £62 for it then stick with buying the Jetex adaptor!  Still works out far cheaper :afro:

I did indeed fit one to my derv; not a massive improvement but it did help lose the vagueness you get.  I'm looking for a similar solution for my Aldi

So not really worth the bother to fit one to the derv then?
How is the OOOO going? Not seen it yet.

Ive sent Jetex an email about it, the one from ebay has already been sent so ill probs just wait and see!

Nice Audi btw

Between mine and Adam's?  None in all honesty; we ended up with pretty much the same spec car although his always made that little bit more power and torque

They're only £20 brand new or thereabouts

Cheers

You need to buy the clamps separately; part numbers are on that thread I linked too :afro:

You need to buy clamps but ill just pop to my mates and he will fit and throw on some clamps as i will as always conveniently forget to buy some

Ok just an update, got the decat fitted but as i assumed the part highlighted in that previously linked thread from Jetex cannot be used to join a 2.5" section to a 2.25" section. So after i wasted £11 on that we ended up using a Universal 3 step reducer i bought just incase which is 68/64/60 off ebay, just cut 4 slits in it and joined the two perfectly. Hope this thread may help someone in the future
