Title: RCD510
Post by: DRC on 09 May 2011, 23:36
Hi again, only me :)

If I decide to buy myself an RCD510 for my Cupra, will my bluetooth and iPod dock still work?
Assuming the pins go to the same place.... possible?
Main reason for asking, the standard Seat H/U, it won't play a Mac formatted iPod and the sound is pretty pants, I guess I could try my mum's first :)
Where would the radio code be located so I can try hers before I buy? :)
Not too fussed about Sat Nav, or 30GB HDD :) Didn't spend over £400 on a Tomtom and iPod for nothing :P

Cheers,
Dan.
(Kinda answered my own question there :D)

Hi Dan

Can't help on the other bits  :embarassed: but for the code, if you ring up VW with your mum's reg then you should be given the code (they may fob you off or have a delay but they should provide FOC)

Thanks Adrian, will it not be provided on the manual anywhere? :)

For security() you don't get the pre printed card in the manual anymore. People used to leave these jn the far defeating the purpose when some light fingered soul took their stereo (and code)

We don't know he bought the radio of his mum? How will contacting VW with his mum's reg enable him to get the code? The person that sold it to him should have provided the radio code.

No they don't like giving you the radio code and they don't supply a card in the handbook as they used to because as said people leave them in the car for the thief to find.

I asked for the radio code when I picked mine up they said its in the service database. I said its my new car and radio I want the code and they gave it to me.

Keith, Dan's Mum has a mk6 GTI and he wants to try out the radio in his Cupra. If it works okay he will buy one for himself to fit in the Cupra and give his Mum hers back.

Thanks for the replies guy, I'll give Mansfield vw a ring and see what they say, if not I'll get mum to ring, its not like we can't prove that the car is hers?
