Hi folks,
Yesterday I took my first steps into the VW world with the purchase of a Golf Gti 16v on a P reg. The car has done 180,000 on the clock and came pretty much with everything you'd need. 17" Oz superturismo's, miltek exhaust, viper induction kit, superchip, lowered all round and a vento front end conversion. I'm chuffed to bits with it!!
Future plans are just to tidy the car up. Missing a few bits of trim of the side skirts which I'm gonna sort out this week. The paint on the bonnet is a bit flat and could do with a respray but to be honest the whole car could benefit from a good cut and polish. Front number plate recess could also do with re-filling as it looks a gash. Gonna ditch the cloth interior for a leather one as well.
Only downside is on the last MOT advisory sheet it says that the nearside and offside sill to floor seatbelt anchorage prescribed area is excessively corroded. and that is literally the only downside but as i'm a chef by trade i don't know if thats a big job........anyone? The car runs sweet as a nut and is rapid to say the least. To insure both me and the missus cost 750 fully comp and we paid 750 for the car.
Nice to be here!!!!!

Hi caistor. Cheers!!
Pics on the girlfriends photopucket don't do the car justice so gonna borrow a mates didgy camera tomorrow and get some proper pics up.
In the meantime been sifting through the history of the car and getting into date order cos it was all over the place. It's been a well loved car with VW service receipts up to 90k and then volkspeed receipts up to 150k.
We also got receipts for the welding of both the n/s and o/s seat belt anchorage points so no need to get any welding done. Proper chuffed!!!!!!!!!!
