Hi,
Been told my car needs a new throttle body  . Its been doing this misfiring game, and we had hoped it was down to the coil packs. We got them changed due to the recall, but no, still misfiring and limp-moding  !
Took it to VW for diagnosics and they say its the throttle body. It is very rare for these to go, but it has, and will need changing. Great... £700 I've been quoted by VW  !!
Taken it to my very good VW/Audi garage, and they have quoted me £450 to supply and fit.
How easy is it to change? Does it need anything special doing once changed? Aligning or something?
Cheers peeps

I suppose they would be getting it brand new? I wouldn't imagine a throttle body being cheap, I took mine off a 1.8t and was a doddle ( Never touched a car before), was just 4 allen key bolts. How about getting one second hand then giving it to someone to fit.

That fine to replace with a second hand one as long as it's like for like but would require basic settings to be carried out
