ps ive ordered a 4 door Golf gtd but its a 4 months + waiting list??
-
Cant comment on the CC steve, to 4 door goodness or boot size
but pop over to Uk Passats - someone will sort you out.
What age is it, and engine set up, Mr SLick will be able to help you out on that side
-
Brand new car on demo Chuff :undecided:
-

you should be ok then Steve, i know slick was looking for a 08 plate or younger to miss the issues. :afro:
And dont forget the piccies
-
CC's are the sh!t. Loads of room, all on cr engines, look lovely and come with oodles of toys.
I'd have one in an instant.
-
 never guess he likes them would you
but you can see why

I'm not getting much of an audiance in here Chuff ? I still not sure about the CC ??
-
you wont, have you been to the forum i recommended
get it test drove, a LOT more practical than a goof, and you can come haunt me elsewhere too then
-
I think they look great.
-
I think they look great.
Yea but what are they like to live with Wayne ? :undecided:
-
They look great.
They drive sh!t.
My mother in law has one and they are a pain in the ass to get the baby in and out due to the low roof line.
Dust off your flat cap and pipe, and no I'm not joking.
Lol that's the most serious I've ever been on here mate
-
Oh and my mate that was after the golf I ought and bought a CC instead and he regrets it a lot
-
if i were to go for one of the new vag 4 doors then itd be the skoda octavia, had a drive in one of them and loved it, loads of space, lots of little handy gadgets, looks great (the estate, imo) hated getting back into my car
but ive never driven or even seen inside a cc so cant compare
-
I really like the look of them, just suspect the driving experience is comparable to a normal Pissat.
-
time to join Team Wagon then Steve
-
Love our 4Mo B5.5 wagon - so good for the kids.
TBH, it depends on your mindset, but if you want to go super-practical and amazingly easy to live with, don't discount the T6 Combi van, especially not with lots of options boxes ticked and the 2.0 bi-turbo 180bhp motor in it.
They drive very, very well and you can get DSG and 4Mo too.
[/curve-ball]
-
Woah, didn't realise how much those T6s are
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201118386190007/sort/pricedesc/usedcars/model/caravelle/make/volkswagen/page/1/radius/1500/postcode/de58nd?logcode=p
£35k for a van!
-
They are fo shizzle.
I would have a well-specced 4mo one as a daily driver over any other vehicle out there.
This gives me the horn: http://bit.ly/dWaZb3
-
T5/6 Combis are great, a mate has one.
How about a Touran 2.0 tdi 170 PS with DSG ?
High roofline for getting kids in and out and a big boot too.
http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/#/new/touran-gp-ii/configure/models/889/
Ours is only a 1.9tdi, but it's still agreat car...right tool for the job and all that.
-
any transporter is gonna cost you big compared to others, lad i used to work with would buy them for less than a grand, deck them out for less than a grand then sell them for 5k plus!
im currently looking for a t4 so i can make a camper, but everyones cottoned on to how much they can get for a basic van
-
Yes, but that's the bottom end of the market, we're talking about the nearly new market here, which is quite different.
My brother has a Sharan and I hate it in comparison to a T5/6. The space in the 'van' is amazing and just so comfortable, flexible and that is what is so luxurious and pleasurable as the ownership proposal.
Once we're out of the Passat (as much as I love it) we will be nailed on to a T4/5 van ASAP.

In response to Doc's comments.
If you have a child, especially a baby, why buy a car with a coupe roofline? Just my view like.
I drove one for a bit and to be honest, I had no problems with it, preferred it over the DSG GTD I drove in all honesty. It just feels more luxurious, and I dunno, just made me smile whereas the golf made me feel a bit meh in comparison.
I'd still have a GTD but if the option was a CC or a GTD i'd go CC all day long.

You'd be a horse with a long, miserable face if you bought one of those over a GTD
I'd go into every detail about why they are so sh1t, trust me we've had em in work for long times, one of my business partners has one and seriously regrets not getting a GTD, as did my mother in law when she drove my GTD.
There both going for GTD's next - about the same time as I'll be going into either a golf R or ed35
Not saying the golfs perfect.....
But the cc is dynamically flawed, has lacklustre performance, struggles to maitain grip in the wet, veers of on a tangent when booted in the wet, is impossible to get in and out of the back, as before but worse with kids. Oh and the residuals aren't as good as the GTD.
In short there sh1t
I'll get of my box now - sorry there just.....

DH , you cant be serious a van FFS

I'm going to test the Passat est and make my mind up from there , gtd is on order anyway ?? Doc you'v swayed me away from the CC mate

DH , you cant be serious a van FFS
Driven one?
I'm deadly serious. If you want a properly practical family motor there is nothing better, or with stronger residuals, I suspect.

Wagons Rulez - that is all

Tested the CC today smooth drive, and very refined but not for me. I found the seats very hard ribbed leather as standard, a bit like sitting on park bench, very nice looking car though.
Back to the drawing board ??? :undecided:

So sticking with the gtd factory order then Steve....... Hope you have alot of patience. Your order could not be anymore perfect for a long wait, 1) gtd which is a fair old wait anyway even if they have allocation therefor 2.0 tdi engine will extend lead time, and then the beautiful dsg gearbox to extend it again. I will be very surprised if you see that car in the next 6 months or even this year. Worth me having a look to see if I can point you in the direction off a stock car..... What spec is essential?
-
I'd go for a Passat Estate, much more practical than the CC and just get it with seats that you like. My brother has a 55 Plate one, it's very nice and has loads of rear legroom and a huge boot.
Trust me, once you've got a kid, a hatchback just isn't quite big enough, especially when you put a modern baby buggy in the boot and if you go away on holiday, you'll need the space for all the extra baby stuff.
