Title: How do I find out what tyres I need?
Post by: ashbreed on 07 May 2011, 19:22
I'm rocking some rep rs4 alloys on my mk3 (pic below) I was just wondering what tyres I could fit on them? I've got 205/40/17s on there ATM... Need some new tears n they bloke down the tyre shop said that theyre strange sizes to have...

Should I stick to the same size or are there n e other sizes I could try? Obviously I need 17s and looking at the low profile (40) but what about the width?

Cheers!

the tyre guy couldnt tell you what tyres would fit then?

if you want the same size tyres again just buy them off the internet then have the fitted down the tyre centre..

my advice would be to swap the wheels for some better ones (16's or smaller )

if i had 17's on a mk3 i would go for 205/40. mush wider or high and you'll have issues. could drop to a 195/40 but dont really see logic in that as i assume rims are 7j.  you'd also end up with a  lower profile that way, making the car ride harder
