Title: where is the diagnostic port???

Been trying to faff around since teh engine management light came on earlier, and my old man ahs a diagnostic tool, but cant find a port anywhere?

its on a 2.0 8lt 2000 X reg gti golf

any help be great

Hoping its nothing major, i know the oil is a bit low and would need changing/topping up but would that cause EM light to come on? or would the oil light come on instead?

pull the cover above the ashtray and below the aircon controls off

top man thank you!!

Plugged in and erased a fault light no longer have EM light on, now i cant decide if im pleased or not just incase something else ius wrong, im such a div!!!

use ya old man's diagnostic reader to do a scan and see if any fault code's are coming up?  :smiley:

na once i turned the engine back off and plugged it back in after turning EM light off, it said ''no codes'', so sounds good so the problem i think was the broken dipstick cover spitting oil
