Title: 93 8V Intermittant Central Locking...driving me nuts!
Post by: MK2psngr on 26 March 2005, 11:49
Strange but very irritating problem. While driving the car, the central locking begins to cycle through on/off/on/off, for no apparent reason. No consistency in terms of when it starts or how long it lasts!!..Extremely irritating while driving!!...any suggestions on how  to fix would be most appreciated!!!

i had a simular problem with an aftermarket kit that was fitted water was getting into the parts in the drivers door and causing a short and as its using an earth/negative to long and unlock it just kept either clicking or locking and unlocking but it only did it when i was driving. I just ripped it out and fitted a complete new kit.

if its aftermarket check all the wiring and that no bare wires are touching eachother or bare metal on the car also remove the door cards and inspect the mechanisms for locking/unlocking.
