Title: Miles??

I'm looking to buy a gti 16v and have a couple of questions?

1. Is there a max milage I should look for when buying a car. i.e. is there a mileage amount when these motors start to go wrong?

2. 3 or 5 door??????

If your a single bloke (lucky sod) id go for a 3 door but if you've got kids then go for a 5 door.
As for the mileage id look for 70-85k but most essential id make sure its got full service history and been well looked after

also.. cambelt should be changed anywhere from around 60 -> 80k so check if thats been done too
